Campers learn from some of the top architectural science students at Ryerson, and participate in innovative and engaging team and individual exercises.
Each week, campers participate in an Egg Drop Challenge where they work in a team to create a device that protects an egg when dropped from a distance. Campers also build foam towers, using foam pieces to build the tallest structure they can. Distinct activities each week include:
- Virtual Reality Design
- Light Design
- Miniature Houses
- Inflatable Dwelling
- CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Routed Chair
- 3D Printed Jewelry
Each camper gets to keep their projects at the end of their camp week.
This program features time for recreational activities, including use of the Recreation and Athletic Centre pool, gyms, studios, and other spaces.
The Architectural Science Day Camp program curriculum is developed by Dr. Vince Hui, who is a past recipient of the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations Teacher Award.
